I celebrated the 4th of July completing this new mountain landscape while enduring forest fire smoke engulfing our mountain studio. I needed relief from this environmental catastrophe. And so, I envisioned a clearing of the yellow cloud of ash, a thorough cleansing of the atmosphere by means of a gigantic wave of crystalline water.
