It is mid-winter in the Collegiate Range. Snows accumulate and cascade violently down the valley. Avalanches race towards the valley floor, their paths traced by clouds of powder. These snows are then funneled into the valley to the right, ultimately feeding the spring floods of the Arkansas River miles below.
