Stone, absorbing the sun’s relentless glare, glows blood red until being mercifully cooled by an occasional late afternoon shower, replenishing the sparse desert forest with sheets of cooling water. A lone human figure stands silhouetted in the notch on the ridge, just left of the center of the rainfall (best seen in detail).
